When Kathryn Morgan, a soloist in the New York City Ballet, was diagnosed with a thyroid condition in 2010, she was forced to leave the dance world for several years while she recovered. Now returning to the stage, Morgan says that her fans online played an important role in her recovery.
Morgan -- who has large followings on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube -- joined HuffPost Live host Caroline Modarressey-Tehrani to discuss how her online social networks helped her through the difficult time.
"[My social network] has been absolutely therapeutic for me," she said. "It's turned into a huge, huge deal that I didn't foresee. It may help other dancers, while it's also an outlet for me to feel like I'm a dancer again."
