“Sabado Gigante” ending after more than 53 years

A Saturday night television tradition in many Spanish-speaking households will come to an end on Sept. 19 of this year when Sabado Gigante, hosted and created by the irrepressible Don Francisco (real name Mario Kreutzberger) and airing in the United States on Univision, will end its run of more than 53 years (the longest-running variety series in TV history).
